About this tool

About Business Days Calculator

Business Days Calculator counts the working days between two dates, or finds the date a given number of business days before or after a start date. You choose which weekdays are your weekend and list any holidays, and the result shows how many weekend days and holidays were skipped.

Delivery times, payment terms, legal deadlines and service-level agreements are usually stated in business days. Weekends differ between countries and holidays differ between organisations, so a configurable count avoids costly off-by-one mistakes.

FAQ

Common questions

By default both are counted if they are business days. Untick “Include the start date” or “Include the end date” to leave them out — for example, to count the working days after an order date.
The calculator starts from your date and moves one calendar day at a time, counting only business days, until it has counted the number you asked for. The start date itself is not counted, so 1 business day after a Friday is the following Monday with a Saturday–Sunday weekend.
Yes. Tick any combination of days as your weekend — for example Friday and Saturday, or Sunday only. At least one day of the week must remain a business day.
It is counted only once: it is already excluded as a weekend day, so it is not subtracted again. The breakdown lists such holidays separately so you can see what happened.
Type one date per line in the format YYYY-MM-DD, such as 2026-12-25. Invalid dates and duplicates are reported with their line numbers rather than ignored. Holidays outside the range simply have no effect.
The start date itself. If the start date is not a business day, the result says so.
No. Everything is calculated with calendar dates, never clock times, so time zones and daylight-saving changes make no difference.
No. Dates and holidays stay in your browser and are cleared when you press Reset.
