About this tool

About XML Sitemap Generator

XML Sitemap Generator turns a list of URLs you paste into a valid sitemap.xml. It checks every line, removes duplicates, escapes special characters, and lets you set optional lastmod, changefreq and priority values for all URLs or for individual ones.

A sitemap helps search engines discover the pages you want them to know about. When you already have the list of URLs — from your CMS, a spreadsheet or a build script — this tool formats it correctly without crawling your site or uploading anything.

How to use

Step by step

  1. Paste your absolute URLs, one per line.
  2. Review the valid, duplicate and invalid counts and fix any skipped lines.
  3. Optionally set a default last-modified date, change frequency and priority.
  4. Adjust individual URLs in the per-URL table if needed.
  5. Check the XML preview.
  6. Copy the XML or download sitemap.xml.

FAQ

Common questions

No. It builds the sitemap only from the URLs you paste or type. It never fetches, crawls or discovers pages.
Absolute URLs beginning with http:// or https://, one per line. Relative paths, blank lines and malformed entries are skipped and counted as invalid.
Duplicate URLs (after normalising, for example removing #fragments) are removed automatically, keeping the first occurrence so your order is preserved.
No, they are optional. Search engines may use an accurate lastmod date but often ignore changefreq and priority, so leave them unset unless you maintain them.
One sitemap file may list up to 50,000 URLs and be up to 50 MB uncompressed. The tool blocks output above either limit — split larger sites into several sitemaps.
A sitemap helps search engines discover URLs, but it does not guarantee crawling, indexing or ranking.
Upload it to your site (commonly the root), reference it with a Sitemap: line in robots.txt, and optionally submit it in search engine webmaster tools.
