—About Watermark PDF
Watermark PDF adds a text or image watermark to the pages of a PDF in your browser. Use presets such as CONFIDENTIAL or DRAFT or your own text, or upload a logo, then set the size, opacity, rotation, position and pages before downloading.
A visible watermark tells readers a document is a draft, a sample or confidential, and shows who it came from. It is a labelling tool, not a security feature: watermarks can be removed with PDF editing software.
Step by step
- Open the PDF you want to watermark.
- Choose Text and type your wording or pick a preset, or choose Image and upload a PNG, JPG or WebP logo.
- Adjust size, colour, opacity and rotation, and pick one of nine positions.
- Select all pages or a custom range and check the live preview.
- Press Add watermark, then Download PDF.
What it offers
- Text watermarks with CONFIDENTIAL, DRAFT, COPY and SAMPLE presets
- Image watermarks from PNG, JPG or WebP, with PNG transparency kept
- Opacity, rotation from −90° to 90°, size and nine positions
- All pages or custom page ranges
- Live preview of the actual output page
- Upright placement on rotated and landscape pages
Tips for best results
- Use 20–40% opacity so the page underneath stays readable.
- Use a transparent PNG for logos so no white box appears around them.
- Text watermarks support Latin characters only; use an image watermark for other scripts.
- Do not rely on a watermark to protect sensitive content — it can be removed.
- Check the preview on a busy page as well as a plain one.
