Tip Calculator works out the tax, tip and total for a bill and splits it between any number of people. You can tip on the amount before or after tax, pick a standard or custom percentage, and round the total up or to the nearest whole amount, with any leftover cents shared fairly.

Splitting a restaurant bill evenly rarely produces round numbers, and rounding by eye can leave someone paying more than their share. Exact cent-level arithmetic shows exactly what each person owes and what the rounding did to the tip.

1. Enter the bill amount before tax.
2. Add the tax percentage if your bill shows tax separately.
3. Choose a tip percentage or enter a custom one, and whether it applies before or after tax.
4. Set the number of people and a rounding option.
5. Press Calculate tip, then copy or download the summary.
