GPA Calculator
Add your courses with their credits and grades to get your grade point average, weighted by credits. Use the common 4.0 or 10-point letter scales, or type your institution’s exact grade points. A table shows how much each course contributes. Everything is calculated locally.

GPA is an average of grade points, not a percentage. Institutions use different grading rules, so your official GPA may differ.
About GPA Calculator
GPA Calculator works out a credit-weighted grade point average from your courses. Choose the common 4.0 letter scale, a 10-point letter scale, or enter your institution’s own grade points, add each course’s credits and grade, and see the GPA with a table showing every course’s quality points and share of credits.
A simple average of grades ignores the fact that heavier courses count more. Weighting by credits, with the mapping and arithmetic visible, lets you check your standing, plan which grades you need and understand how each course moves your GPA.
Step by step
- Choose a grading scale, or Manual grade points with your scale’s maximum.
- For each course, enter an optional name, its credits and the grade (or grade points).
- Add, remove or reorder courses with the row buttons.
- Press Calculate GPA.
- Review the contribution table, then copy or download the summary.

Tips for best results
- Use your institution’s official grade-point table when it differs from the common scales.
- Leave out pass/fail or non-credit courses unless your institution counts them.
- Keep credits exactly as listed in your transcript, including half credits.
- Do not convert GPA to a percentage unless your institution publishes the formula.
