About this tool

About Crop PDF

Crop PDF trims the edges of PDF pages in your browser. Set margins for the top, right, bottom and left in millimetres or use a preset, apply them to all pages or chosen pages, preview the shaded area to be removed, and download the cropped PDF.

Scans and exports often come with wide white borders, printer marks or unwanted headers. Cropping tightens the page for reading on screens and printing, without converting the pages to images.

How to use

Step by step

  1. Open the PDF you want to crop.
  2. Choose all pages or enter custom pages and ranges.
  3. Pick a preset (5, 10 or 20 mm) or type exact top, right, bottom and left values.
  4. Check the preview: shaded areas will be removed, and the new page size is shown.
  5. Press Crop PDF, then Download PDF.

Best practices

Tips for best results

  • Preview a few different pages before cropping a whole document.
  • Use custom ranges when only some pages have extra margins.
  • Leave a small margin around text so nothing is clipped when printing.
  • Cropping hides content rather than deleting it — do not use it to remove confidential information.

FAQ

Common questions

The visible page area (the PDF crop and media boxes) is reduced by the margins you set. Pages are not rasterized, so text, vector graphics and links keep their quality.
Millimetres, measured inward from each edge of the page as it appears on screen (1 inch = 25.4 mm).
Yes. Choose custom pages and enter pages and ranges such as 1-3, 5. Other pages are left unchanged.
It is hidden, not erased: the page no longer shows it, but the original content stays inside the file. Do not rely on cropping to remove confidential information.
At least 10 mm must remain in each direction on every chosen page, so the tool blocks crops that would create an empty or unusable page.
Margins always refer to the page as you see it on screen, so a landscape or rotated page is cropped on the edges shown in the preview.
No. Cropping runs entirely in your browser with pdf-lib, and your original file is not changed.
